Anouk

Loving these looks from Anouk. They can be found here. Total 90's flashback! I especially want those cream laced shorts!

Love is what it comes down to

Ok. The royal wedding. Way too publicized and such a media craze. We kind of get lost in the glitz and glamour, what Kate is wearing (I have to admit, I couldn't wait to see!), the decoration, the Queen's arrival, the ring, and we forget what this wedding actual is: two souls joining with the commonality of love. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a private ceremony somewhere else, I think it would be a bummer to have my only wedding on full display for the world to judge. So here is to the beautiful couple, may they live happily ever after.

p.s. Beautiful choice of gown by Kate. She looks gorgeous and it was awesome of her to pay homage to the late great Alexander McQueen. My favorite picture is the last one, her sister Pippa look genuinely happy for Kate, brings a tear to my eye.
p.s.s. how stylin to the Beck's look, love love love Victoria's hat by Philip Treacy.

Hiking!

This morning Willow and I took a long and peaceful hike up the royal arch trail around Chautauqua park. It's been a beautiful day and I knew spending it outside with my boo, enjoying my natural surroundings and listening to Enya on the iPod is the only way to do it. putain de parfum

One thing I have always loved is perfume. I grew up with a mother who despised scents in laundry detergent, perfume, soap, etc. She enjoyed the smell of the outdoors and hated when chemicals tried to imitate it. So I was sheltered from scents. As soon as I could I bought my own perfume which was Amor Amor by Cacharel, and I have been hooked on perfumes ever since. Above is about 3/4 of my collection of perfumes, the rest is in my bra drawer. I don't have a signature scent (how boring!) I like to switch it up everyday! My three favorite perfumes that I own right now are Crystal Noir by Versace, ChloƩ by ChloƩ, and Rose the One by Dolce and Gabbana. Each one is very different from the other, but most have floral tones. I used to be a fruity tone kind of girl, but my nose, like the rest of me since I was 15, has matured (not to say fruity can't be fabulous!) Others include: Hanae Mori, Princess by Vera Wang, Brit by Burberry, Miss Dior Cheri by Dior. All wonderful in their own ways.

One of my favorite things to do is look at old glamour pictures or movie stills of actresses and actors. Here are a few that I found to share with you guys. 1. Brigitte Bardot 2.Britt Ekland 3.Elizabeth Taylor (her eyes are amazing) 4.Marilyn Monroe (cliche I know, but this is such a beautiful pure picture of her) 5.Raquel Welsh in One Million Years B.C. 6.Ursual Andress in Dr. No (the original Bond chick badass)
Enjoy!

Its just one of them days. Going through a time in my life where I can't be just ignore how I feel about certain things. College is amazing at first, but the last years are exhausting and become so routine. I'm not sure what can get me through this time, but expressing myself to total strangers is a way to let it out a little bit.

the ring

Quite possibly the most epic ring I have ever seen. By Luis Morias seen here

Halloween two years ago! I was ginger spice, she was some sort of 20's gangster.

Sarah's lemon lavender fizz cocktail featured in Saveur magazine!

One of my best and longest friends is Sarah. She is my humor soulmate. There is nothing we can't find humor in (even when inappropriate.) We grew up together, and I could not imagine a life without her. She moved to New York last summer to do big things in the culinary world and we have only seen each other once since then (for only one day at that!) I just decided that I am finally going to go visit her in the city. A couple of days ago her lemon lavender fizz coctail was published in Saveur magazine! I am so proud of her, and she deserves all the success and happiness in the world! The picture is above and you can get the recipe here!

Hope your week is going lovely!

Easter

Happy Easter!

A fishtail braid on drugs...

I have always been an advocate for crazy braids. I learned how to fishtail when I was younger and I have sported the look all the time. Now they're everywhere- all over the runways and editorials, I love it! Its a very easy braid, though it can be difficult to start. Patience is always useful when dealing with braids. Here are some that I love...especially the one with the different colours! A-MAZ-ING!

Christoph Waltz- amazing.

I am so in love with the actor Christoph Waltz. He is so talented, and I find him so handsome. Came across this picture. Its my favorite.

I knew I recognized that shirt...

Watching Coachella live stream last night, I noticed Kanye's printed shirt and I couldn't help but think I had seen it recently somewhere else. But I don't follow men's fashion too often (I know I should...) so I was confused of where'd I seen it. Turns out it was on Celine's spring 2011 womenswear runway! Go Kanye- fashion is fashion, and shouldn't be gendered (except maybe lingerie ;) Plus its a very cool shirt!

Dinner for one :)

I'm going to be honest, there is nothing better than a good bowl of Mac and cheese, that ooie gooie cheese sauce covering pasta is to die for! But these days I need to be more health conscience since that darn swimsuit season is just around the corner. So I made my own healthier version Mac and Cheese with chicken sausage and broccoli! It was sooooooooo good, with half the calories of normal M & C. After I indulged in a weight watchers dark chocolate covered raspberry sorbet popsicle, which is also really low in calories (and doesn't taste like diet food!)
Happy Eatings!!

Another Coachella...Another year I didn't go :(

For the longest time I have wanted to go to the Coachella Music and Arts Festival. Usually the weekends would always fall around our finals, but this year it was earlier than usual. I have only heard amazing stories about the festival, and being somewhat close to me I really thought this year would be the year. But I had too choose between Coachella and Spring Break with my girlfriends. I wish I could have gone to both! But my goal next year is to definitely go, no excuses. But this year I just have to be happy watching it streaming live through youtube. Watching Kanye now!!

Here are some rad fashions found this year at Coachella, bohemian queens.

you and me.

I love this song You and Me by Penny and the Quarters. It is featured in the film Blue Valentine with Ryan Gosling (drool) and Michelle Williams. If you have not seen this movie yet, go. The filmmaking is beautiful and the story is seems very honest. Acting is spot on. Plus who doesn't want to watch an hour and a half of the sexy Ryan Gosling?

I Caved...

I caved in and bought this draped dress from Nasty Gal you can get here. I love low cut dresses with a loose fit. And black is of course my go to color (original...I know). But $58 seemed reasonable to me. Just a little present to myself :)

Photographer: Mary McCartney

The photos above are done by Mary McCartney, Paul McCartney's (swoon) first daughter. She is a beautiful photographer (just like her mama Linda McCartney). I came across her photos today randomly and I was especially impressed by these ones. I want to get a copy of the Kate Moss photo to frame and put up in my house!
P.S. Lazy sunday here in Boulder. Just lounging around finishing a paper, and cuddling with Willow. It was a crazy weekend! Time for rest!

Birthday Happy Hour

Yesterday was one of my oldest friends Ella's 22nd birthday. So today a huge group of us went to happy hour at one the yummiest restaurants in Boulder called The Med. We all shared tapas and drank wine to celebrate her birthday right! My favorite tapa of the meal was this yummy salad of cherry tomatoes, goat cheese, pecans, honey, and mint! It is superbly amazing! Here are a couple of pictures taken with my iPhone. Happy Birthday Ella!

My boo...

Yes, I am one of those nut cases obsessed with their dog. This is Willow, a little mutt I got my freshman year of college with my boyfriend at the time. He (I know Willow is a girly name) is the craziest pup ever. His favorite thing in the world is fetching and swimming. When I adopted him from our local shelter his information said he was a Labrador/Shepherd mix, but to our surprise he never grew (which ended up being perfect for my college living of tiny houses and low income) I am a single mom to him now (my ex is out of the picture haha) and he is the love of my life, and I'm so glad I always have a friend around.

The first picture is of him with my sister Lily on a white water river rafting trip we took about 2 years ago, the second picture is him with Lily again, only this time we were in New Orleans. I lived there for a about a month 2 summers ago. The last one is him as a puppy (so darn cute!)
